Recently, there have been many studies of the use of hosphorothioate DNA for as antisense DNA in antivirus agents in which the DNA is not decomposed by nucleases. 3H-1,2-Benzodithiol-3-one 1,1-dioxide (1) efficiently introduces sulfur atom into phosphite 2, so that it can be converted to phosphorothioate 3.
