Chemiluminescence
These Cypridina Luciferin analogs achieve chemiluminescence through reaction with super oxide (O2–) or singlet oxygen (1O2).
CLA and MCLA have been used in the research of the functions of leucocyte. Furthermore, FCLA recently developed by Goto and co-workers, is characterized by emitting light at the longest wavelength (532nm) among the chemiluminescent substances known up to now.
