History
1894
Kakuko Asakawa Shoten was founded by Kobei Asakawa, as a
pharmaceuticals wholesaler, in Tokyo, Japan.
1946
Kakuko Asakawa Shoten changed its name to Tokyo Kasei Kogyo Co., Ltd.
The company then changed their focus to manufacturing and marketing organic laboratory chemicals.
1952
The first catalog was issued.
1966
Operation of Fukaya Plant inaugurated to expand production capacity.
1985
American Tokyo Kasei Inc. (presently TCI America) was established in Portland (Oregon), U.S.A. to better serve North American customers.
1989
TCI America's Oregon Research Center (ORC) was created to explore new chemical introductions through extensive research and development.
1997
East coast sales office established. (Current location Boston, MA)
1999
TCI Europe N.V. was established in Antwerp, Belgium.
2002
Fukaya Plant received ISO9001:2000 Certification (JQA-QM8374) and IQNet Certification (JP-JQA-QM8374).
TCI Shanghai was established in China.
2004
TCI America expanded its large scale production capabilities by acquiring a new 20,000 sq. ft. facility in an effort to increase domestic supply and decrease lead times.
2006
Established sales office in Frankfurt, Germany.
2007
Established sales office in Oxford, United Kingdom.
2008
Established sales office in Chennai, India.
